Successful cardioversion of flecainide in patient with chronic atrial fibrillation who is failed cardioversion with pilsicainide

Abstract

|
A 45-year-old woman visited our hospital to receive treatment for arrhythmia. She was incidentally diagnosed with atrial fibrillation 3 years earlier. Our initial attempt at rhythm control through chemical cardioversion with pilsicainide failed, with recurrence of atrial fibrillation 1 week after DC cardioversion. We then treated the patient through rate control and anticoagulation therapy for 1 year. Chemical cardioversion with flecainide was attempted again 1 year later. The patient’s sinus rhythm returned to normal.
